Will iast ever come back?
AnonymousProbably not. While we love IAST more than a lot of things, we all have very busy lives, and when it comes to running a site, you need time and dedication. Many of us found it’s far easier to just be members.

IT’S A SOUTHERN THING has been opened for eight months!
It’s still going strong! Just recently we have added a new city to the mix so that plots can be developed. We understand not everyone is small town! We have been going through inactive characters and there will be an activity check soon. Not to mention, see who’s paired with who for the male auction! Who doesn’t love an awkward date?

okay, so here’s what you need to know about tiffani and joey. they’ve been best friends since they were kids. not in diapers. his mother kept him all to herself when he was that young. no, since, like grade school. when she was in braces, and he had a lisp. and the acne was crazy, but she was still more popular than him and loved him anyway. she’s not afraid to put him in his place. if he’s being unreasonable, she smacks him about the head and tells him to stop being an idiot. and she makes him more light-hearted. helps him remember how to laugh and joke around. she’ll take him to see stupid movies. and snap sniped-photos of him looking stupid and threaten to post them on the internet. the way they act around each other is more or less the same as when they were kids. in high school, she invited him to a dance because he had never been to one before. and then she left him to dance with a guy who then became her boyfriend for two years. and in junior year, she locked joey and her best friend emily ACCIDENTALLY into a broom closet. and three years later, they got married.
joey was abused pretty badly when he was younger. and he wasn’t very popular, so his only confidants were tiffani and emily. and they were the only two who ever knew. and he made them promise not to tell anybody. except when joey was a junior, things were getting worse, and he’d spend weeks out of school trying to recover. put it under the guise of allergies. but tiffani and emily knew it wasn’t true. so when joey had to quit the swimming team because of a broken arm, she called the police. and she had very accurately documented what was happening. those random snapshots of him were not just for fun. bruises and dates and all that. all recorded. all used to put mr. russo in jail. and joey, for one year of his life, lived at tiffani’s house with her family.
he never found out that she was the one who helped put his father away. because when cps came strolling around his house, joey was beat up so bad, he landed in the hospital. away from the trial. away from everything. and so he doesn’t know. and if he did find out now, he’d probably be grateful. BUT BACK TO THE OTHER STORY.
joey launched himself into the politics world when he got out of college. started as a lawyer, made his way to congressman, but now he’s a senator. it’s a big deal. but when he was just a lowly little congressman, his wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. emily battled with it for two years and then passed away, leaving joey as a single father and a widower. he didn’t even have to ask. tiffani was at his doorstep as soon as she heard the news. she moved back to graham (from wherever she had been). and she’s been helping joey raise ava since the little girl was five years old. zoom forward fifteen years later.
she and ryan try to get him dates. but he won’t get into it. he only goes to please her. he still figures he’s married to emily. that he’d be betraying her if he did that. and more than that, he’s fallen in love with tiffani. he won’t admit it. he can’t. because emily and tiffani were best friends. and that would be the ultimate form of betrayal. tiffani is trying to help joey let go now, and she doesn’t see that he loves her. i don’t know how she feels about him. that’s up to you. i would LOVE IT if she loved him back, but you know. sometimes, that’s not how things work. her face is non-negotiable. but everything else is really up to you. please, please, please take her. and be in for the long haul. i already had my last girl leave, and it was heart breaking.

What Gavin needs is someone that takes interest in him and his achievements and the intelligence that Gavin has when applied. All his life he’s been outshined and overlooked. He’s been a constant disappointment because Gavin did not end up joining the military and living the dream. With Dr. Sexy, Gavin has someone that looks after him, and Gavin is enamored by the interest Dr. Sexy takes in him. He was one of the professors that went with Gavin to South America, taught him how to work in an atmosphere outside of the hospital. He’s one of the doctors that opened the clinic here in Texas for those who aren’t always up on the healthcare market, and prefer slightly more holistic approaches to medicine (not that the clinic centers around that, but it’s always an option to keep the staff thinking out side of the conventional box). Dr. Sexy is audacious, cocky in his own ways, mouthy, sophisticated. He’s not a Texan doctor. He’s not necessarily down home, not saying that he isn’t the man to bring home to you mother - not that he actually wants to go home to your mother. While he’s had women that he’s dated for periods of time, it’s easier to not have attachment so that he can pick up and leave to travel whenever he may please. He’s not afraid to squeeze where it hurts. He’s cunning, cutting - a mixture of both McSteamy and Mcdreamy - rolled into one, with a little bit of House on the side. His first impression of Gavin was that it was possible Gavin was gay by the way that Gavin looked at him - but they got passed that. Over it. You know. It’s nice to be idolized, though sometimes Dr. Sexy takes advantage of it. Makes Gavin do tasks he wouldn’t always ask of other doctors just because he thinks its funny. He does not think Gavin is as smart as him, but he believes that Gavin could make it work because he has an excessive need to be good at something. He just worries that Gavin’s need to please his father is going to destroy him as a doctor – as he has noticed with Gavin’s absence from work, delayed after his brother’s overdose. Dr. Sexy does not like Charles Darwin. I feel any alpha type nature would clash. Dominance over who gets a say in Gavin’s life when really, it’s just Gavin.

fifty, javier bardem, father reyes
so it’s that time where i finally request ryleigh’s father. i think javier bardem is the only face i’ve been able to come up with. and now looking at pictures i think he’s the best choice. i’ll just do a quick rundown of information. i have his name as guillermo in like everything i’ve ever written for ryleigh, but if you want to change the name, it’s not a big deal. i’ll live with it. no biggie.
he grew up in mexico and texas area. i’m going to say he’s originally from graham? somewhere along the line moved to mexico. somewhere along the line took a trip to brazil and met elaina when he was young. elaina, who is the mother of his three daughters. that was around twenty-one. and then he stayed with her there and raised their children for the next eighteen years.
when he lived in mexico, he wasn’t exactly the best citizen around. he was in some bad stuff when he was young. eighteen-ish. very scary stuff. i want to say he’s killed some people back then? back in the day. he was probably apart of the mexican army for a few years before he met elaina, which is where the killing happened. served his time and moved to brazil for her. and then they had kids. she was only eighteen at the time.
anyways, personality wise he’s very quiet, he’s very loyal, and he’s family oriented. he loves his kids more than anything in the world. he has a very unsettling stare if you don’t know him. despite his mistakes in his teenage years, he straightened out. but i imagine he is still good with a knife…gun…you know…his hands. okay. i’ll stop now. javier just looks like a bad ass and papa reyes has to be a bad ass. i can’t imagine he has ever had much of a stable career? in brazil he probably did something minor, like working at a post office or something simple like that. because he’s a simple guy. in new york he drove cabs. or at least, that’s the best job i can see for him. then in texas, i think if you made him work at like the airport or something? went for training to become some kind of pilot mechanic. either that, or a gun shop. because that’s just how i see him. he doesn’t care for job titles. work is work. pay is whatever. he’ll figure it out. he probably did odd jobs like michael weston. assisted good people who made bad choices because he is scary looking and intimidating and knows a few things in a lot of areas. honestly, i can see her dad as someone who just continuously went to college just to learn, not to get a career or anything.
he’s fifty now. i know javier is only 42 but. he could pull off older. it’s hard with older face claims, cut me a break please. he divorced elaina(ryleigh’s mother) when ryleigh was sixteen. he has his daughter emilia, who is now 28 and has lived in new york with their mother for the past ten years, but now lives here. then there is ophelia who is 24 who has lived in graham with him ever since she was twenty-four. those are his three children. he has relatives in mexico and texas. it’s your choice what you want to do with his love life. he just always put his kids first and she didn’t. so they divorced. if you want that he remarried or something, that’s fine. you know, i’m totally up for new ideas, new stuff like that. maybe he has a little child. that would be pretty hilarious. i don’t know, honestly, i wasn’t going to request him, so now that i’m typing this i’m getting ideas for fun things to do. anywayyys.
ryleigh loves her father the most. because he’s reasonable. he’s stubborn in the best ways. he loves her. he’s proud of her. he’s simple. he’s calm. that’s probably also one of his faults. he doesn’t snap, he’s just always eerily calm. scarily calm. he made his mistakes and he’s learned from them and he’s an old man now. and ryleigh really needs her daddy because she needs a huge and love and to stay away from elaina who’s moved here and everyone else cooped up into ryleigh’s apartment. he just knows ryleigh best. middle child, his precious little baby girl. plus the most pain in the ass, so he had to learn how to handle her. and he did. we can talk more,and check out her history if i forgot anything. because i’m trying to watch mike and molly while i type this and it is very difficult.
i imagine he plays poker with his buddies still. and he hugs ryleigh when she is being a pain in the ass until she stops. because it really does work. like this. they are just precious. it’s hard to explain. because they both can be such hard asses. and then at the same time it’s so calm, their relationship. she loves her father so much. and likes when her dad helps solve her problems. even though she’d never admit that whatsoever. he likes her fiance, noah too. even if he’s asked noah if he needs him to kill anybody for that western. totally serious. noah thought it was a joke. honestly. her dad probably scared pierce off. not for ryleigh, but because it’s been awhile since he’s done something exciting. and wouldn’t mind making that fool piss himself all the way back to new york. he’s got fire in his veins. if you’ve ever watched las vegas, i imagine he’s somewhat like ed deline. tough guy, isn’t against using violence to establish his place. but again. it’s a calm violent. and it’s creepy. not aggressive. okay. again. that is all for now.
right here how he talks to ryleigh about her mother. and pretty much, when it comes to noah, her dad makes her not be a dumb ass idiot. or he gives noah advice to help ryleigh get over her stubborn self. he just wants his children happpy. and if the sisters have anything to add, go for it. because it is their father.
